Dublin is full of hidden gems for couples looking to say “I do” in an intimate, magical setting. As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing love stories in some of the city’s most charming chapels—here are my top 5 picks:
St. Michan’s Chapel – small chapel opposite St Stephens green park Historic, famous for its catacombs, atmospheric, and filled with character. Perfect for couples who love old-world charm and beautiful architectural details.
The Maritime museum Dun Laoghaire
This historic former Mariners Church which is now home to the National Maritime Museum and it is absolutely stunning. It has been a backdrop to many weddings I shot there and it never disappoints.
- Merrion Chapel – Nestled in the heart of the city, this light-filled chapel offers elegance and simplicity, giving your wedding photos a timeless feel.
- St. Teresa’s Church, Clarendon Street – Cozy and welcoming, with beautiful stained glass that catches the light in the most enchanting way.
- The Capuchin Friary Chapel – Surrounded by peaceful gardens, it’s a serene spot for intimate ceremonies and naturally romantic photography.
- The Haddington House Dun Laoghaire, situated right next to the Maritime Museum is an old charm hotel with a boutique cocktail bar and an outdoor space for wedding reception and a party overlooking Dun Laoghaire pier. It offers an amazing menu choice and a dancing room.
- St. Audoen’s Church – the only one of Dublin oldest medieval parish churches. The stone walls and historic details make for dramatic and unforgettable wedding portraits.
